Testing out the benefits of overhead sprinklers during the hot days of summer.
The bed has both beets and a salad mix with half grown under sprinkler and half without (in addition to drip irrigation). So far it appears extra water helps with improved germination and faster growing, happier looking plants. However, it takes only a quick glance to notice the increase in weeds. The sprinklers are a simple, inexpensive off the shelf kit, and with no timer, I just turn it on when I remember with no particular schedule (and sometimes off when I remember). Overall it seems to be a worthy investment to keep in mind. What's a few extra weeds here and there?
*Look for an updated review, if I regret the weeds increase later.
